Job Summary

Blue Grace Logistics is one of the leading Managed Logistics/Transportation providers in North America, and we're growing. As we expand our Carrier Sales leadership in Chicago, we're looking for an experienced Manager, Carrier Sales to lead and develop a team of Carrier Sales Representatives, with real ownership over the carrier relationships and team performance that drive that growth.

Duties and Responsibilities Lead your team
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of Carrier Sales Representatives, from ramping new hires to building senior reps into future leaders
  • Own hiring, onboarding, and performance management for your team, including regular one-on-ones and monthly performance reviews
  • Set the tone for the team: urgency, accountability, and ownership over the freight in your region
Drive carrier network strategy
  • Build and strengthen carrier relationships to improve pricing consistency, service reliability, and coverage speed
  • Direct carrier development priorities, including high-volume lanes, problem lanes, niche markets, and new carrier onboarding
  • Monitor market and capacity trends and adjust regional strategy as conditions shift
Partner across the business
  • Work with customer sales to prioritize the load board and align on pricing strategy for current and prospective accounts
  • Consult on spot market opportunities and support the development of regional pricing
  • Use available technology and data to spot coverage risk earlier and keep your team focused on the relationships that move freight
  • Facilitate team meetings where appropriate
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed
Qualifications
  • 4-5+ years of experience selling freight as a carrier sales rep, with prior people-management experience preferred
  • Extensive carrier portfolio development and management experience
  • Strong understanding of pricing strategy and the bid package process
  • Strong fundamental approach to load board management
