The National Program and Chicago Engagement Director will champion the vision for all national and virtual programs, oversee the program execution, and manage all aspects of Hadar’s involvement in Chicago.
This person will oversee all programmatic components for these programs from the planning process to program execution and post-program evaluation.
The National Program and Engagement Director will work closely with Hadar’s faculty to build and expand our national program strategy for targeted key audiences.
Additionally, this person will act as the face of Hadar with Chicago area community members, donors, and partnering organizations, and will represent Hadar Chicago at local and national events and conferences. This position will build relationships across the Chicago area community, engaging people already in our Hadar network and reaching new community members. We seek a dedicated professional who thrives in a fast-paced work environment, loves building deep relationships with people of all ages, and is skilled at project management.
This person will report into Hadar’s Senior Director of Programs and Engagement, work closely with our faculty and regional teams and serve as a key member of the Program and Engagement Team. This is a Chicago based position.

Core Responsibilities National Programs and Engagement- Visioning and management of national programming including:
Hadar’s Virtual Beit Midrash,regional program support, and Shabbatonim - Strategic program design for key Hadar audiences, including Teens, College Students, Rabbis, Jewish professionals
- Collaborate closely with Rashei Yeshiva and faculty to design and execute programs , including setting calendar, creating program schedules and curating participant experiences
- Build and manage rubric and evaluation process for each of Hadar’s National programs
- Build and maintain National program Budget
- Manage National Program Team
- Oversee all operational and participant needs for National programs
- Build local partnerships with Jewish organizations and individuals on the ground
- Plan and execute local programs to raise Hadar visibility
- Recruit and support Hadar Community Groups in Chicago
- Member of Hadar’s Engagement Team, working also with the Program and Communications teams to build new engagement strategies within the local Chicago community
- Recruit for/connect locals with Hadar’s full array of programs, including Project Zug, weeklong immersives, Hadar content (weekly divrei Torah, podcasts, books etc.), Teen programing and more.
- Cultivate a development portfolio among Chicago community members in conjunction with the Development team
- Track data to monitor engagement
- Represent Hadar at local Chicago programs and events
- Deep understanding of and enthusiasm for Hadar’s mission
- Proven record of success in engagement or program work, professionally or through lay leadership
- Self-starter, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, and entrepreneurial; enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives
- Relationship builder with flexibility and collaborative spirit.
- A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently through creative problem solving
- High energy with the ability to work and think at both the strategic and tactical levels
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to learn and utilize systems effectively including but not limited to Salesforce and Google Drive
- Hebrew reading is required, proficiency in Hebrew is a plus
- Knowledge of Chicago Jewish communal landscape preferred
- Comfort with public speaking and facilitation experience preferred

The salary range for this position is $85,000-$95,000.
