Assistant Project Manager – BHS (O’Hare International Airport)
Location:
Chicago, IL. Join the Program Management team supporting the multi‑billion‑dollar airport capital redevelopment program at O’Hare International Airport.
Reporting to the BHS Project Manager (PM), you will partner with client representatives and manage the appointed Construction Manager At‑Risk (CMR). Your duties include stakeholder coordination, interface management, design and construction oversight, value engineering, reporting, problem solving, risk assessments, preparation of presentation materials, and day‑to‑day project and technical management of activities. You will assist with the preparation of project details across phases, provide technical support to Project Managers with contract packages and execution plans, conduct regular site walks, facilitate the BHS RFI and submittals processes, review proposed design changes, conduct technical reviews of design and construction documents, review the project schedule, track the CMAR’s reporting and compliance with contract documents, attend meetings and work sessions, and serve as the acting PM in the PM’s absence.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction
- 5+ years’ experience as an Assistant Project Manager at an Engineering, Environmental, or Construction organization
- Experience on projects with a minimum construction value of $100 million
- Related design and construction project management experience with building projects
- Working knowledge of pre‑design and pre‑construction, building systems/components and technology, contract management, project delivery methods, team building, and client relationship building
- Experience with vertical design and construction projects
- Ability to work onsite full time at O’Hare International Airport with the program management team
- Experience with airline data systems, building management systems, MEPFP systems
- Experience with BIM modeling
- Experience working on Aviation project management teams
- Experience working on alternate delivery contracts
- PMP, DBIA Professional, Professional Engineer (PE), or Architect license/registration
