In partnership with Lindauer, the University of Chicago seeks an accomplished advancement leader to serve as Associate Vice President, Alumni and Community Experiences.
Reporting to the Vice President for Alumni Relations and Development, this executive will lead a broad portfolio spanning alumni relations, donor stewardship, annual giving, advancement communications, volunteer engagement, and signature events.
As the University prepares for its next comprehensive campaign, the Associate Vice President will help design the experiences, strategies, and relationships that deepen lifelong engagement among more than 220,000 alumni, parents, and friends while advancing one of higher education's premier advancement organizations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for alumni engagement, community experiences, and constituent participation.
- Lead integrated teams across alumni relations, stewardship, annual giving, communications, volunteer engagement, and events.
- Partner with Advancement leadership to execute campaign engagement strategies that inspire philanthropy and volunteer leadership.
- Build, coach, and develop high-performing teams while leading thoughtful organizational change.
- Foster collaboration with senior University leaders, faculty, volunteers, and partners across the institution.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in advancement, alumni relations, nonprofit leadership, marketing, or a related field.
- Demonstrated success leading complex organizations and managing high-performing teams.
- Experience working with senior academic leaders, trustees, volunteer boards, and key institutional stakeholders.
- Strategic, collaborative leader with strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Anticipated salary range of $275,000-$325,000
