GMET Communications is seeking an experienced and results-driven Area Vice President to lead a significant portion of our Cricket Wireless retail operations across the Northeast. Based in Chicago, Illinois, this senior leadership position will support approximately 100 to 150 retail locations across multiple states and markets.

The Area Vice President will be responsible for driving sales performance, operational execution, profitability, talent development, and customer experience throughout the assigned region. This individual will lead through a team of regional and district-level leaders while ensuring that company initiatives and Cricket Wireless standards are consistently executed across all locations.

We are looking for a highly visible, hands-on leader who can operate effectively in a fast-paced, multi-state retail environment and build a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for approximately 100 to 150 Cricket Wireless retail locations across multiple states and markets.
  • Lead, coach, and develop regional, market, and district-level field leadership.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and hold leaders accountable for sales, profitability, staffing, customer experience, and operational execution.
  • Develop and execute regional strategies designed to increase revenue, customer growth, accessory performance, productivity, and overall profitability.
  • Analyze market, store, and leadership performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Conduct regular business reviews and create actionable plans to address performance gaps.
  • Maintain a consistent field presence through store visits, market tours, leadership meetings, and performance reviews.
  • Ensure consistent execution of company policies, promotional initiatives, merchandising standards, inventory controls, and Cricket Wireless operating requirements.
  • Partner with Human Resources to recruit, retain, develop, and succession-plan high-performing leaders.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional departments, including Operations, Human Resources, Finance, Training, Marketing, Maintenance, and Real Estate.
  • Support new store openings, acquisitions, integrations, market transitions, and other strategic growth initiatives.
  • Develop annual and quarterly operating plans for the assigned region.
  • Manage regional labor, expenses, budgets, and controllable costs.
  • Promote a culture centered on integrity, accountability, teamwork, customer service, and results.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable company policies and federal, state, and local regulations.
Qualifications
  • Significant leadership experience in multi-unit retail operations, wireless retail, telecommunications, or a comparable performance-driven environment.
  • Previous experience overseeing a large geographic region with multiple markets and layers of field leadership.
  • Demonstrated success managing a substantial retail portfolio, preferably 75 or more locations.
  • Proven ability to improve sales, profitability, operational consistency, and leadership performance.
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including experience with budgets, labor management, performance reporting, and profit-and-loss accountability.
  • Ability to interpret complex performance data and translate findings into clear action plans.
  • Strong executive presence, communication skills, and organizational leadership capabilities.
  • Experience leading organizational change, business integrations, acquisitions, or rapid growth is highly preferred.
