- Lead Chicago New Employee Orientations (NEOs): manage at least 2, and up to 4+ day-long sessions per month for 5 to 25 new employees per session, with additional trainings in summer for temporary staff. Responsibilities include presenting the full program (6–7 hours), assisting colleagues with presentations, distributing materials, administering tests, and handling follow-up paperwork and evaluations.
- Develop and lead targeted training in other ILSOS areas as needed: collaborate with the Deputy Director and Lead Trainer (Springfield) to create, implement, and present training programs, materials, evaluations, and presentation aids for topics such as Customer Service, Ethics, Discipline, Right to Know, Performance Evaluations, Attendance Monitoring, FMLA and other leaves.
- Assist with the ILSOS Hiring Process: as directed, support hiring and onboarding activities.
- Travel to various sites within Illinois as needed; possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License and insurance.
- Back-up front desk/reception staff and/or test room staff as needed.
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
- Professional, competent, and engaging presentation skills for both small (5–10) and larger (25–50) groups.
- Ability to respond to questions warmly, empathetically, accurately, and completely.
- Strong organizational skills and timely completion of preparation and wrap-up paperwork for training sessions.
Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of four years of college with coursework in public or business administration, AND three years of responsible professional experience in a public or private organization.
