Overview

Amtrust Financial Services, a fast‑growing commercial insurance company, needs a Workers’ Compensation Claims Manager. The manager works with the Claim Adjusters to ensure Workers’ Compensation claims activities are handled within Amtrust Best Practices, develops and maintains professional customer and broker relations by identifying and meeting customer needs, and ensures that staff demonstrates customer‑service principles.

This position will start remotely with an expectation to transition to a hybrid schedule upon opening of our Oakbrook, IL office.

Responsibilities
  • Together with the Claim Supervisors and Manager, develop short‑range area plans and budgets designed to achieve company goals and objectives.
  • Secure, evaluate and develop staff; ensure that staff works effectively as a team.
  • Keep the Claim Supervisors and Manager informed of current case status through regular communications and reports.
  • Ensure that all AmTrust policies, procedures and controls are followed; consult with the Claims Supervisors on claim areas needing improvement.
  • Work with staff to ensure that approved vendors are being used; monitor our attorney vendor panel and meet with firms to discuss action plans on the mitigation of our claims to ensure cost‑effective and efficient results.
  • Work with the Supervisors on monitoring claims, ensuring proactive cost‑effective and creative cost management.
  • Work with Supervisors to manage the negotiation of claim settlements, participate and testify before hearings, trials and depositions ensuring timely and cost‑effective resolution.
  • Support AmTrust sales and marketing goals by participating with underwriting in sales activities including new business development.
  • Work with the supervisory team to evaluate the performance of the claims staff at regular intervals to ensure the consistent implementation of company standards and internal quality control, by conducting audits.
  • Maintain current knowledge of related laws and regulations and communicate to staff.
Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of progressive management experience preferred.
  • Experience with in the Workers’ Compensation insurance industry.
  • SIP certificate where required.
  • Working knowledge of budgeting and profit/loss management.
  • Experience with computerized claims management and office systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of related government laws and regulations.

The expected salary range for this role is $92,000–120,000 annual.
