Position: Senior General Manager (Lease-Up Luxury Rentals)

Related is seeking an experienced Senior General Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of 400 Lake Shore Drive, a premier residential community in Chicago.

This is a high-impact leadership role for a seasoned property management professional who thrives in a dynamic, resident-focused environment and knows how to bring together people, operations, financial performance, and resident experience.

The Senior General Manager will serve as the senior on-site leader, overseeing the property's operations and team while partnering closely with Regional and corporate leadership to drive performance, maintain the highest service standards, and ensure the property operates in accordance with all applicable regulatory and company requirements.

What You’ll DoLead the Property & Team
  • Provide strategic leadership for all day-to-day property operations, including leasing, resident services, compliance, maintenance, and administration.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the on-site team, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, and exceptional service.
  • Partner with leadership on hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee engagement.
  • Serve as a visible and hands-on leader for residents, associates, vendors, and business partners.
Drive Financial & Operational Performance
  • Own the property's annual budget, financial performance, expense management, and operational reporting.
  • Monitor revenue, collections, delinquencies, expenses, and capital needs while identifying opportunities to improve performance.
  • Partner with Regional and Revenue Management teams on pricing, market trends, leasing performance, renewals, and occupancy.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, capital projects, and building improvement initiatives.
Deliver an Exceptional Resident Experience
  • Set the standard for a high-touch, hospitality-minded resident experience.
  • Lead efforts around resident retention, service recovery, communication, and community engagement.
  • Ensure resident concerns are addressed quickly, professionally, and with a solutions-oriented approach.
  • Maintain a strong presence throughout the property and ensure the building consistently meets Related's standards for presentation and service.
Oversee Compliance & Affordable Housing Operations
  • Ensure the property remains compliant with all applicable federal, state, and local housing regulations and Fair Housing requirements.
  • Oversee affordable housing programs and requirements, including LIHTC, HUD/Section 8, Inclusionary Housing, Bond, 421-a, and other applicable programs.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of certificates, recertifications, renewals, rent registrations, audits, and agency reporting.
  • Partner with Affordable Housing, Legal, and corporate teams to resolve compliance matters and maintain strong regulatory standing.
Maintain the Building & Operational Standards
  • Partner with the Resident Manager and Maintenance team to ensure the property is well maintained, safe, clean, and operating at a high standard.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance, inspections, building projects, vendor performance, and capital needs.
  • Proactively identify operational issues and develop solutions before they impact residents or the business.
  • Ensure compliance with building, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Compensation:

$130,000 - $150,000 + Discretionary Bonus

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressive property management leadership experience, ideally within a large-scale luxury or Class A residential environment.
  • Proven experience leading and developing multidisciplinary
