Dispensary Manager Job Description Position Overview

The Dispensary Manager oversees / facilitates the daily operations and transactions of the dispensary, handling the needs of all customers and developing a professional team that is passionate about cannabis. The Manager reports directly to the General Manager and works with Company leadership to ensure the facility's sound recordkeeping and compliance with local and state regulations. Priorities include the implementation of dispensary policies, oversight and management product inventory and development and supervision of dispensary staff.

The Manager is also responsible for overseeing marketing, promotions and the maintenance of reports as they pertain to the daily operations and financials of the dispensary.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the dispensary's compliance with security, inventory and local and state regulations
  • Manage and inspire staff to deliver the highest level of customer service
  • Ensure the safety and satisfaction of every customer and employee
  • Responsible for providing a high level of education and development for staff pertaining to cannabis strains, edibles, concentrates and consumption mechanisms
  • Create budgets and forecast sales based on principles of retail business and experience
  • Set sales, service, and profit goals and lead staff to exceed them
  • Work closely with the buyer to procure an adequate supply of quality products
  • Fulfill staffing needs and coordinate scheduling
  • Communicate with and coach staff on a regular basis to ensure the dispensary's excellence in service
  • Implement and manage dispensary policies and procedures directed by the company
  • Document financial, Inventory and customer trends; maintain sales and purchasing reports
  • Manage and maintain dispensary sales and inventory management software
  • Ensure employees follow company protocols.
  • Review performance of dispensary employees on a regular basis.
  • Lead morning meetings to direct sales goals, address employee concerns and prepare the team for the day ahead.
  • Create a warm and welcoming environment for staff and customers
  • Routinely work with vendors and community members
  • Other duties as assigned
Performance Requirements and Skills
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale systems.
  • Practical and pro-active thinking
  • Attention to detail, organized and patient
  • Multitasking
  • In depth knowledge of cannabis
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents relating to dispensary performance, general business periodicals, professional journals, safety, security and technical procedures, and governmental regulations
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations with staff and customers.
  • Ability to work under pressure without losing composure.
  • Friendly, warm personality.
Job Requirements
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent preferred
  • 3+ years management experience required
  • 2+ years of cannabis retail experience required
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Must possess a valid license or state
  • Must be available to work varied hours and/or days, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Physical

Qualifications:

Bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds by themselves and 75+ pounds with a buddy, ability to be on standing or sitting for long periods of time.
