Job Description Summary
The Manager, Inventory Management will lead a team responsible for the execution and continuous improvement of Invenergy’s owner-furnished equipment (OFE) inventory program. This team is responsible for inventory planning, transportation coordination, warehousing, material visibility, and deployment of critical equipment to active construction and operate project sites. The Manager will serve as a key liaison between Global Sourcing, Construction, 3PLs, Project Management, and Suppliers to develop and execute inventory strategies, manage vendor relationships, and ensuring trade policies.
Responsibilities- Inventory Program Management – Develop and implement inventory management strategies that optimize the storage, tracking, visibility, and deployment of OFE across Invenergy’s project portfolio. Establish performance metrics and reporting capabilities that provide real-time insights into inventory status, deployment schedules, warehousing and transportation spend, warehouse space availability, and supply chain risks. Manage serialized data records of inventory, including inbound and outbound BOLs, warehouse reports, and project assignments.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives into material tracking, cost forecasting, warehouse operations, and data quality. - Logistics Management – Develop and implement logistics strategies that optimize the transportation of OFE in a safe, efficient, on-time, and cost-effective manner. Lead transportation planning and execution in partnership with carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers. Oversee inbound and outbound material movements, delivery coordination, documentation management, and invoice validation.
- Supplier Relationship and Contract Management – Establish and own relationships with third party logistics partners, including intermodal 3PLs, freight forwarders, trucking companies, and warehousing providers. Run RFPs and negotiate high-value project and portfolio-level transportation and warehousing agreements, ensuring cost-effective, high quality, and scalable logistics and storage solutions. Monitor supplier performance and identify opportunities to improve on-time performance, limit damages and reduce costs.
Manage cost forecasts and validate invoices. - People Management - Manage, develop and coach team of direct reports on projects and assess performance for engagement and regular reviews. Establish team priorities, allocate resources and foster culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree 8+ years of total professional experience.
- 2+ years of experience with supply chain management, inventory management operations, and/or procurement.
- 2+ years of people management experience.
- Experience managing domestic transportation, imports, and/or inventory.
- Experience running RFPs for transportation and warehousing and experience negotiating high-value transportation and warehousing agreements.
