The Deputy Director of Unclaimed Property Outreach is responsible for overseeing the administration of unclaimed property outreach initiatives. This position will work closely with the Marketing and Communications Division and Scheduling Division to promote unclaimed property throughout the State and Country. The individual in this position will oversee key strategic partnerships to enhance public awareness of the unclaimed property program and inform residents of their unclaimed property.
This position will oversee the maintenance of a CRM related to outreach efforts of the division, manage the Legislative Partnership Program, recommend call time for the Treasurer, and oversee the completion of various data-matching initiatives. Attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Develops and implements a comprehensive outreach plan to raise awareness of the Unclaimed Property Program
- Works with various divisions across the Treasurer’s Office, including the Legislative Division and Scheduling Division, to partner with and educate members of the General Assembly, elected officials, groups or organizations, and individuals to inform residents of their unclaimed property.
- Serves as point of contact for unclaimed property outreach initiatives.
- Interviews and trains employees, plans, assigns, and directs work, appraises performance, and provides positive feedback and constructive criticism to employees.
- Handles customer service and public relations issues that cannot be solved through the appropriate chain of command within the Unclaimed Property Division
- Develops new as well as maintains current policies and procedures to ensure the effectiveness of the Division.
- Facilitates a proactive approach to customer satisfaction through the establishment of partnership meetings with key stakeholders.
- Demonstrates a hands-on approach for problem solving and solutions and informs management immediately if serious issues arise.
- Facilitates the coordination of internal resources to resolve complex problems.
- Prepares and/or edits unclaimed property written materials intended for public distribution.
- Responds to legislative and constituent inquiries from elected officials and their staff regarding unclaimed property and other Treasurer’s Office programs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or required which are reasonably related to the duties enumerated above.
Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to interpret data and arrive at appropriate conclusions.
- Proficient at prioritizing tasks, working independently, and collaborating across functional areas.
- Exhibit good judgment and leverage experience to successfully meet goals.
- Must be a self-motivator while actively participating in a team environment.
- Must be familiar with the Revised Uniform Unclaimed Property Act
- Must be able to supervise a large staff and function in a fast-paced environment.
Work Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, Communications, Public Administration, or other related field required; advanced degree preferred; three (3) or more years of experience in customer relations or constituent outreach; and four (4) or more years of management experience; OR any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to carry out the duties of the position.
