Role Summary

The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating lift trucks and related equipment to transport raw materials, in‑process materials, and finished products throughout the production area. This role plays a critical part in maintaining efficient material flow, supporting production lines, feeding equipment, and ensuring all materials are moved, stored, and handled in accordance with safety and quality standards.

What You’ll Do
  • Operate a forklift to secure, transport, position, and remove production materials.
  • Transfer loaded hoppers and dump materials into press hoppers as directed by the Mixer Operator.
  • Supply presses with empty pallets, move rack cars, and transfer loaded cars into dryers; open dryer doors and activate equipment as required.
  • Move tote cans, pallets, sacks, and related materials to and from the hand‑mix system.
  • Empty and return trash and scrap hoppers to designated areas.
  • Transport sacked materials to the mixing floor and remove empty sacks for disposal.
  • Perform occasional lifts outside the department when requested.
  • Keep equipment clean, report defects or malfunctions to the supervisor, and follow all safety rules.
  • Perform general labor duties as needed to support production operations.
What You Bring
  • Experience operating forklifts or other automotive material‑handling equipment.
  • Ability to safely move, load, and position materials in a production environment.
  • Strong awareness of safety procedures and commitment to safe operation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with production, mixing, and pressing teams.
  • Reliability, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
  • Willingness to perform general labor tasks when needed.
