. This role is eligible for S&C’s annual short-term incentive bonus, subject to eligibility criteria.
Join Our Team as a Mold Machine Operator! In this role you will mold a variety of epoxy parts and may perform other tasks such as sandblasting and painting of molded epoxy parts. You will work in a production environment, engage in continuous productive activity, and meet requirements within time constraints driven by machine cycles ranging from 7 to 22 minutes.
Tasks require eye-hand coordination, manual dexterity, and repetitive use of both hands and arms. You will frequently use hand and power tools such as knives, scrapers, engravers, and air-impact tools. You’ll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting a diverse team.
- Operate injection molding machine, ensuring smooth and efficient production of simple polymer components.
- Review job orders and simple blueprints to understand molding requirements.
- Set up molds, adjust parameters, and monitor production, maintaining optimal operating conditions.
- Cycle molding machine and monitor progress while performing secondary operations such as deflashing, inspection, lubricating grease application, and packaging of finished product.
- Inspect finished products for defects, following quality assurance guidelines and escalating issues when needed.
- Use hand tools like files, hammer, scraper, and air nozzle to clean molds and maintain equipment cleanliness.
- Apply silicone mold release to prevent sticking and facilitate production.
- Perform sandblasting operations as required.
- Document completed jobs with accuracy and report issues promptly.
- Meet department targets and adhere to quality and safety standards.
- Comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.
- Collaborate with departmental mentors to apply feedback for improved quality.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Attend in-person or virtual meetings as requested.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with others.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
- 1+ year of machine operation experience in a production environment.
- High School/GED diploma required.
- Ability to use hand tools and precision measuring instruments such as scales and calipers.
- Basic knowledge of machine controls and programs.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to work independently and meet material requests requirements.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to articulate information to team members in production support departments; able to escalate issues to team leads and supervisors as needed.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to respond to internal applications.
- Basic math skills for quantities, weights, and measurements.
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to understand and complete requests from team members inside and outside the department.
- Good critical thinking skills with the ability to solve problems and improve processes.
- Good attention to detail with the ability to complete precise tasks and follow instructions.
- Willingness to follow Health, Safety & Environment procedures and report concerns promptly to the safety action team.
- Less than one year experience.
