Overview
The role ensures accuracy and quality of all products shipped from Vienna Beef by working alongside production to conduct on-line checks of product specifications and quality standards.
Responsibilities- GMP’s – Visual Inspection and enforce GMP’s throughout the facility, QA Lab Daily GMP Audit – especially packaging
- Check the Quaternary Ammonium concentration levels in the Foot Baths and Foot Foamers
- Monitor and place areas on hold if drains back up
- Monitor sanitation requirements for maintenance repairs and equipment downtime
- Perform metal detection, check weights and packaging/case integrity, calibrate thermometers
- Monitor employee and machine performance during operational inspections
- Prepare and take samples
- Monitor the storage and transfer of packaging supplies, ensuring they meet sanitation requirements
- Follow Hold Procedure & Quarantine process
- Verify and conduct temperature checks throughout the facility
- Conduct metal detector calibration
- End-of-shift room release for sanitation
- Thermometer and scale calibrations
- Production inspection
- Perform all duties that may be assigned
- Promptly notifies QA Manager or Vice President of Quality Assurance when quality issues arise or safety concerns
- Arrive to work at scheduled time and follow time‑off request procedures
- Communicate with co‑workers in a professional manner
- Treat co‑workers with respect at all times
- Use teamwork with production throughout the day
- Follow the facility GMP’s and help enforce them throughout the facility
- Support the company’s food safety system (SQF) and quality programs
- Seek supervisor guidance when in doubt or facing a problem
- Contact supervisor an hour prior to start time if unable to work a scheduled shift
- Contact maintenance personnel for minor repairs to equipment
- Contact maintenance personnel and supervisor for major repairs to equipment
- Know all company‑documented Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
- Know all company‑documented Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points (HACCP/SQF)
- Know company sanitation procedures and inspection process
- Qualify and comply with forklift training and operation policies
- Know finished product specifications
