Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Machine Operator to work on Flexo, Folder, and Gluer lines. The role involves assisting operators with changeovers, setups, and startups of machinery, and loading and unloading machinery with materials. The successful candidate will follow work orders to set up customer orders and specifications, stack orders, palletize, wrap finished orders into bundles, and stage them for shipping.

This position requires manual loading and unloading of machines and using measurement devices for accuracy. The machinery is automated and fast-paced, demanding adaptability to speed and automation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with changeovers, setups, and startups of machinery.

  • Load and unload machinery with materials.

  • Follow work orders to set up customer orders and specifications.

  • Stack and palletize orders.

  • Wrap finished orders into bundles and stage them for shipping.

  • Manually load and unload machines.

  • Use measurement devices for accuracy.

  • Bundle cardboard into stacks based on customer orders.

  • Load boxes onto the production line.

Essential Skills

  • Machine operating experience.

  • Experience with setups, changeovers, and startups.

  • Ability to adjust machinery for speed, size, and weights.

  • Experience in manufacturing, particularly with corrugated, cartoning, or packaging materials.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with corrugated or cartoning processes.

  • Ability to work independently after training.

Work Environment

The work environment is extremely automated, with opportunities to work both collaboratively and independently after training. Safety is a priority, requiring steel toe boots and provided safety glasses. The dress code is casual, including jeans or work pants and a shirt. The position offers shifts from 2nd shift Monday to Friday, 2 PM to 10 PM, 3rd shift Sunday to Thursday, 10 PM to 6 AM, with training conducted on 1st shift from 6 AM to 2 PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
