Overview
The mount/demount process starts when old tires are received into the facility. These tires are dis-mounted and cleared of any tubes, flaps, or valve stems. A safety inspection of the tire is performed and if passed, the casing will be set to the side to be sent to TRAC’s retreading plant. The mounting process starts with a load of recap casing that are sent into the Chicago Service Center by our tire retread plant in Florence, KY.
Tires will be mounted and sent out to the local vendor where the order was received. The location:
Chicago Service Center, 1800 W 43rd St, Chicago, IL 60609, USA.
This position requires a high level of Quality Control for each stage of the mount/demount process. The mount/demount process is conducted through a multi-station process, where cross training will be provided for each station.
Pay Range: $20.00-$25.00/hr
Responsibilities- Ensure station is cleaned and stocked and equipment is working properly before and after all shifts
- Consistently meet or exceed standard metrics per day for each position (tires inspected, tubes pulled, etc.)
- Work well in a team environment, employees may be asked to work multiple positions some days in order to meet daily goals
- Show up to work timely and consistently to ensure your shift does not lose productivity due to staffing shortages
- Ability to identify when using any hazardous materials and use proper PPE/procedures when handling these materials
- Able to operate a forklift properly and with all safety measures
- Other duties as assigned
- Ability to work in facility that is NOT temperature controlled:
Hot in the summer months and Cold in the winter months - Can frequently bend, twist and lift objects over 50 - 100 pounds on a regular basis. 100+ pounds of pressure when pushing tires
- Must be able to work standing up and do repetitive and sustained exertions, forceful exertions, awkward postures, mechanical stress concentrations, vibrations
- Knowledge and understanding of Commercial Tires is preferred
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen as well
- High school diploma or GED
- Shifts are Monday – Friday 6A - 2:30P, overtime as business allows
