Position Summary:
Nailor Industries of Texas is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator for our Cicero, IL facility. The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA and company safety policies, promoting a safe working environment, conducting training, and supporting continuous improvement in all aspects of workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and company guidelines.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments throughout the facility.
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Coordinate and conduct safety training for employees, including new hire orientation, equipment use, and emergency response.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations.
- Maintain safety records and reports, including OSHA logs, training documentation, and injury reports.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related issues at the Cicero facility.
- Assist in developing Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborate with plant leadership and supervisors to promote a strong safety culture.
- Support workers’ compensation claims management and return-to-work programs.
- Participate in safety committee meetings and provide updates on initiatives and KPIs.
- High School Diploma or GED required;
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field preferred. - 2+ years of experience in a safety-related role in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and local safety regulations.
- Excellent communication, training, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus.
- This position requires regular presence on the production floor, including around machinery, noise, and temperature variations.
- Occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs), walking, climbing ladders, and wearing PPE is required.
