The Role at a Glance (2nd Shift)
On our 2nd shift, you’ll own the complete machining process for custom and refurbished pump components. You’ll write and modify Mazatrol programs, perform tool layouts, set up raw materials, and run CNC lathes and mills to tight tolerances. You’ll collaborate with a skilled shop team while also working independently to move critical jobs from setup through final inspection.
What You’ll DoProgram and refine Mazatrol code for Mazak lathes to produce custom parts and components.
Set up and operate CNC lathes and mills efficiently and safely.
Complete setups for a variety of large, refurbished pump parts and related components.
Plan tool layouts, stage raw material, and verify correct work holding.
Machine parts from raw stock and castings to close tolerances of 0.001 inch while maintaining quality standards.
Read and interpret engineering drawings with both conventional tolerances and GD&T callouts.
Adjust speeds and feeds to maximize productivity without compromising finish or accuracy.
Use a range of precision measuring instruments to verify in-process and final dimensions.
Apply shop math to compute radii, bolt circles, and other dimensions.
Partner with the Hydro shop team while also driving tasks independently.
What You Bring3+ years of CNC programming experience on Mazak lathes using Mazatrol controls.
Proven ability to set up and run CNC lathes and mills.
Experience with tool layout and raw material setup.
Strong blueprint reading with understanding of conventional and geometric tolerances.
Hands-on proficiency with varied measuring tools.
Solid math skills for calculating radii, bolt circles, and related features.
Safety- and quality-first mindset; effective collaborator who can also work autonomously.
