Job Title: Facilities Technician (outdoor work - yard & warehouse)

Department: Operations

Remote Status: Onsite, must live locally after hire. We do not offer rotational schedules, company housing, or relocation assistance.

Annual Compensation Potential: $69000-$76000 per year

Job Summary: Responsible for consolidating and blending chemicals, loading shipments, chemical inventory, organizing the storage yard, and operating equipment. Will include some groundskeeping and security.

Expectations: Requires high level of initiative, self-motivation, and organizational skills. Must have a high attention to detail, strong mathematical aptitude, and commitment to safety procedures and regulations. Given parameters but works with little supervision. Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment, effectively balancing a sense of urgency with a commitment to safety.

Essential Duties (work is 90% outdoors year-round):

  • Comply with chemical handling safety requirements
  • Fill, consolidate, and blend chemicals according to company policy, in totes, drums, and pails
  • Safely operate necessary equipment such as pumps, skid steer, forklift, and power tools
  • Package, pick, and stage orders for all upcoming shipments
  • Assist drivers with properly loading and unloading chemicals

    Responsible for proper hookups from storage tanks to trucks and ensuring the correct chemical is loaded and/or transferred
  • Conduct gate check‑in inspection for all units, for inventory purposes
  • Participate in site job risk analysis and process improvement programs
  • Responsible for the sampling of chemicals and related paperwork
  • Execute on established procedures for efficient storage and organization of all shop products and inventory
  • Responsible for facility and yard maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep
  • Follow proper hazardous waste disposal procedures
  • Follow Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures in the shop and yard
  • Identify and recommend solutions to safety and security issues
  • Responsible for end‑of‑day procedures – properly storing equipment and tools, cleaning the shop, closing and locking up the warehouse, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Education/

    Experience:

    High school diploma, GED, or at least 1 year of relevant work experience. 1+ years of experience in production chemicals, forklift, or shop environment preferred. Strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude. Demonstrated proficiency in operating equipment such as forklift and skid steer.
  • Certifications/Licenses:
    Forklift certification preferred. CDL beneficial but not required.
  • Driving Requirements:
    Follow all FMCSA and DOT regulations, where applicable.
  • Physical Requirements:

    Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 55 pounds chest high. Tip and move 55-gallon drums, weighing up to 600 pounds with the use of equipment and/or vehicles. Must be able to reach, push, pull, and grasp with arms and hands. Will require daily standing, crouching and/or kneeling, sitting, walking, climbing, driving, and transitioning in/out of vehicles. Must be able to talk, hear, and feel attributes of objects or temperatures by touching with the skin.

    Required to have the visual acuity to safely operate motor vehicles and equipment, close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Work Environment:
    Indoors and outdoors (90% of time in the yard), with some exposure to environmental conditions such as extreme winter weather, precipitation, and wind. Includes potential exposure to harmful chemicals, dust, odors, fumes, oil, and gases. PPE is provided and expected to be used properly. Noise level is typically moderate to loud.
  • Language

    Skills:

    Ability to read, interpret, and understand documents such as safety rules, safety data sheets (SDSs), operating instructions, and procedure manuals. English language fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehending is required.
  • Mathematical

    Skills:

    Ability to accurately calculate and record chemical inventory is crucial. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using weight and volume measurements.
  • Work Ethic:
    Be trustworthy, dependable, respectful, and truthful with a commitment to safety and excellent customer service. Follow policies and procedures and take responsibility for your own actions.
  • Pre‑employment Checks:
    Must pass a pre‑employment drug test, motor vehicle record check, and background check.
