Description
Excel Ltd. is an electric panel board manufacturer specializing in street lighting control, located in Grayslake, IL (corner of Route 120 and Atkinson Road). We are looking for individuals who have previous electrical control experience (wiring control panel boards, switch gear, etc.), are comfortable using power tools and hand tools, and can read blueprints and wiring schematics. It is rare to find candidates with street lighting control experience, so we understand that there will be a learning curve and some on-the-job training required.

- Electrical knowledge required
- Experience in wiring electrical components (Circuit Breakers, Control Relays, Lighting Cont actors, Selector Switches, Pilot Lights, GFCIs, etc.) required
- Print labels and tag all wires, cables, devices, and equipment neatly and properly
- Troubleshoot basic electrical problems including taking voltage and amp readings, tracing wiring, evaluating relays, testing switches, evaluating health of wiring, checking breakers and fuses, etc.
- Route control wiring and terminate connections in switches, transformers, junction boxes, and control devices
- Drill, tap, punch and cut holes in stainless steel and aluminum to mount panel and machine components
- Assemble, build, and wire industrial control panels to UL and NEC standards
- Draft/read assembly drawings and schematics
- Availability during hours of shop operation, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
- Previous panel building experience preferred (willing to train a motivated candidate).
- Formal electrical training or demonstrated on-the-job experience in the electrical field.
- Familiarity with NEC, UL, and/or CSA codes preferred.
- Demonstrated mechanical ability.
- Knowledge of proper and safe use of hand tools and small power tools.
- Attention to detail.
- Teamwork and dependability.
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be safety conscious.
