Position
Quality Control Technician – Fabrication and Assembly (Required)
Pay Range$26 - $26/hr
LocationBedford Park, IL
ScheduleMonday – Friday – 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform in-process inspections of armored vehicles, including verification of sub-assembly installations, welding, bends, assemblies, and final products to ensure compliance with customer specifications, assembly drawings, and internal quality standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of fabrication progress, quality inspections, part assemblies, armor plate heat lots, and ballistic test plate traceability records.
- Capture photographs and video documentation of armored vehicles for internal records and remote media-based inspections.
- Collaborate with production teams and multiple departments to communicate manufacturing needs, resolve nonconformances, and support an efficient production flow.
- Assist in developing visual aids and work instructions to support subassembly installation and content integration.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency, reduce errors, and accelerate the movement of parts throughout fabrication processes.
- Prepare and report production metrics and quality assurance results to management.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards, company quality policies, and related procedures.
- Identify, document, and report any nonconforming materials, assemblies, or processes.
- Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and assembly documentation.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and protractors.
- Previous experience in quality inspection or a related manufacturing environment.
- Experience performing first-piece and in-process inspections on assemblies.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and ISO standards.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across departments to resolve quality concerns and nonconformances.
- Ability to obtain security clearance.
