Quality Inspector / Quality Technician (ISO 9001, Nadcap Accredited Facility – Validate Quality Across Anodizing and Wet Paint)
Salary: $24 - $32 per hour.
Job DetailsWe’re adding a hands‑on Quality Inspector / Quality Technician to validate finished quality across anodizing and wet paint (industrial coating) for aluminum parts, ensuring every shipment meets customer specs and our on‑time, right‑first‑time expectations.
What You’ll Do- Finish/Coating Inspection (Anodize + Wet Paint):
Perform in‑process and final inspections for Type II/III anodized aluminum parts and wet paint coated components. - Visually inspect for common finish defects (color variation, burns, streaking, pitting, scratches, runs/sags, fisheyes, dry spray/orange peel, incomplete coverage, handling damage).
- Verify finish characteristics to requirements (coating thickness, color, cosmetic standards, masking/coverage, adhesion/cure indicators).
- Documentation & ISO/Quality System Support:
Record inspection results, maintain inspection logs, support traceability and shipment quality documentation aligned with ISO
9001:2015 practices. - Review travelers, routers and work instructions and confirm processing steps match customer and internal requirements.
- Communicate nonconformances clearly, help contain issues and expedite escalation to production leadership.
- Production partnership:
Work closely with anodizing, dye, racking, packing and paint operations to prevent defects and improve first‑pass yield. - Support root‑cause troubleshooting by identifying defect patterns (what, where, frequency) and providing actionable feedback.
- 1+ year experience in quality inspection in manufacturing or coatings/finishing environment (anodizing/painting experience strongly valued).
- Comfortable using basic inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and working from specs, travelers, and work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail: can spot cosmetic defects and inconsistencies quickly and consistently.
- Solid documentation habits: able to write clear inspection notes and maintain records.
- Able to stand, walk and handle parts safely in a production environment.
- Experience inspecting anodized aluminum (TypeII/III) and/or industrial wet paint coatings.
- Familiarity with customer‑driven finishing specifications (including military, automotive, architectural standards).
- Understanding of ISO
9001 and NADCAP quality systems, nonconformance documentation and corrective action support.
