Manufacturing Engineer, Injection Molding
Directs and coordinates tool room activities to ensure proper repair, modification, and reliability of molds supporting injection molding operations.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESDirect daily tool room operations and workflow
Supervise, train, and mentor tool room personnel
Plan, assign, and prioritize mold repairs and modifications
Ensure quality, safety, and efficiency standards are met
Coordinate with management and production to support schedules and demand
Maintain accountability for tooling costs, methods, and results
Perform hands-on toolmaking work as required
Complete additional related duties as assigned
TOOLMAKING RESPONSIBILITIES (AS NEEDED)Repair and modify molds, jigs, and fixtures requiring tight tolerances
Analyze and implement mold changes to meet production and quality requirements
Plan repair procedures and select appropriate materials
Develop shrinkage and temperature allowances for proper mold function
Assist with mold setup and troubleshooting in production
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSManufacturing environment with moderate noise and exposure to oils, dust, and fumes
Ability to stand and/or walk for the duration of the shift
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Perform repetitive movements including bending, stooping, pushing/pulling, and fine motor work
Use of required PPE
QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or equivalent; industry certification preferred
5+ years of mold repair and modification experience in injection molding
Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred
Strong precision grinding and mold repair skills
Experience with EDM, jig grinding, or similar processes
CAD proficiency;
Solid Works and/or AutoCAD preferred
