We are seeking a reliable and detail‑oriented Production Operator to support daily manufacturing operations by safely operating production equipment and maintaining quality standards. This role is responsible for producing conforming product, supporting Dakkota’s Business Operating System, and ensuring compliance with all safety, quality, and process requirements. The ideal candidate is a safety‑focused, team‑oriented individual with a strong attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement.
This position is based on‑site at our Chicago, IL facility and reports to the Department Supervisor as part of the Manufacturing/Production team.
What You’ll Do- Operate production tooling and equipment to meet established production, safety, and quality standards.
- Maintain tooling, equipment, and work areas to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
- Identify, document, and disposition nonconforming materials or assemblies according to quality procedures.
- Support Business Operating System (BOS) and quality system requirements by reporting issues and deviations.
- Accurately complete all required production, quality, and process documentation.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure shift‑to‑shift continuity and performance.
- Perform work in a manner that promotes teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Demonstrated written, mathematical, and documentation skills.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to meet color and/or appearance testing requirements where applicable.
- Familiarity with quality specifications and documentation within an automotive manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for 8 hours or more per shift.
- Occasional lifting, climbing, carrying, pulling, gripping, grasping, and reaching (approximately 11–64% of the workday).
- Required hand and eye coordination.
- Adherence to all company safety and emergency procedures.

The pay rate for this role is $18.00 per hour. The listed rate for this role is representative of the current collective bargaining agreement.
