Brewer

Role Summary

The Brewer role at Goose Island is a full-time position at the Fulton Street Brewery, responsible for day-to-day operations in the brewhouse or cellar, including wort and beer production, barrel aging, dry hopping, and sanitation.

Shift: 10-hour rotating shifts, 4 days a week (Sunday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Saturday). Shift rotation occurs every 6 weeks.

• 6:00am – 4:00pm
• 12:00pm – 10:00pm
• 2:00pm – 12:00am
• 9:00pm – 7:00am

Salary: $25.95 per hour plus shift premiums and bonus eligibility.

• Produce quality wort and beer in accordance with specifications and schedule.
• Maintain CIP and sanitation practices to prevent contamination.
• Follow process controls and adjust schedules as needed.
• Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, implement solutions, and report deviations.
• Complete daily paperwork and maintain cleanliness and order.
• Collaborate with lab, packaging, and maintenance teams.
• Champion a safety-first culture, audit for compliance, and communicate with EHS manager.
• Attend brewing, safety, environmental, taste-panel, sensory meetings and trainings.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of brewing environment experience; certification from a recognized brewing school preferred.
• Willingness to work variable, flexible shifts including overnights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
• Thorough understanding of the brewing process and quality control.
