Hours- 6:00 am – 2:30 pm (Monday–Friday)

The estimated hourly base pay rate for this position is $20.70. This role is also eligible for S&C’s annual short-term incentive bonus, subject to eligibility criteria.
PositionJoin Our Team as a Finisher. Are you passionate about metal finishing? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to coordinate our metal finishing function. As a finisher, you’ll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team. The Finishing System is a process designed to pre-treat metal (i.e., powder coat and liquid paint) to protect it from the environment.
You will work in a production environment, engage in continuous productive activity, and must meet requirements within predetermined time constraints. Tasks require the use of both hands and arms on a repetitive basis for a full range of motion.
- Identify parts from blueprints to verify that they are properly tagged.
- Use simple material handling equipment such as powered walking stackers, storage trucks and pallet trucks.
- Use simple measuring equipment such as tape measures.
- Learn proper grinding procedures to smooth welds and remove scratches from steel parts and enclosures.
- Hang parts weighing up to 200 lbs. on an overhead conveyor using material handling equipment.
- Respond to system alarms and perform basic sanding procedures.
- Maintain a physically demanding workload and sustain a continuous work pace for extended periods.
- A working knowledge of shop math.
- Ability to follow specific instructions and procedures.
- High School diploma.
- Standing:
All tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking. - Lifting:
Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 50 lbs. - Walking:
Occasional walking moderate distances (less than 1/8 mile). - Carrying:
Frequent carrying of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 25 lbs. - Pushing:
Occasional pushing of motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000 lbs. - Pulling:
Occasional pulling of motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000 lbs. - Bending:
Frequent bending and crouching to safely lift parts of various sizes and shapes. - Reaching:
Continuous full range of motion from above the shoulders to below the knees. - Handling:
Continuous handling of parts ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 50 lbs. - Other:
Respirator certification required.
