Paper Trimmer Operator

Job Description

Position Title:

2nd Shift Paper Trimmer Operator

Hours:

1:00 p.m.

- 9:00 p.m.Position Summary The Paper Trimmer Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of paper trimming equipment to produce finished product that meets customer specifications and company quality standards. This position requires reading and interpreting work orders, setting up and operating trimming machinery, inspecting product quality, stacking finished material on pallets, and maintaining a safe and organized work area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements at all times.

Wear required PPE and participate in safety training.

Read and interpret production orders, specifications, and work instructions.

Set up and adjust trimming equipment according to job requirements.

Verify sheet sizes, trim dimensions, counts, and customer specifications before production begins.

Operate paper trimming equipment efficiently while maintaining quality standards.

Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as necessary.

Inspect finished products for quality, including sheet size, squareness, cleanliness, and appearance.

Remove defective material and report quality concerns.

Stack finished paper products neatly and securely on pallets according to specifications.

Label pallets and complete production documentation accurately.

Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Assist with changeovers and other production duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred.

Previous manufacturing, paper converting, printing, or finishing experience preferred.

Ability to read and understand work orders and production specifications.

Basic math and measuring skills.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Dependable attendance and punctuality.

Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.

Ability to bend, twist, reach, and perform repetitive movements.

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.

Ability to safely handle paper products and production materials.

Ability to work around moving machinery in a manufacturing environment.

Ability to work overtime as needed to meet production requirements.
