The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations within a battery energy production facility, ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective production of battery modules, battery packs, and energy storage products. This role leads production teams, drives continuous improvement initiatives, maintains quality and safety standards, and collaborates with engineering, quality, maintenance, and supply chain departments to meet production goals and customer requirements.

The ideal candidate has experience in battery manufacturing, electronics, automotive, energy storage, or high-volume industrial production environments and possesses strong leadership, problem-solving, and operational management skills.

Key Responsibilities Production Operations Management
  • Plan, organize, and oversee daily production activities to achieve production targets.
  • Monitor manufacturing performance, productivity, and equipment utilization.
  • Ensure on-time completion of production schedules and customer orders.
  • Coordinate labor, materials, and resources to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Lead shift supervisors, team leaders, and production associates.
Battery Manufacturing Oversight
  • Manage production processes involving cell preparation, module assembly, battery pack assembly, BMS integration, testing, and packaging.
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturing procedures and work instructions.
  • Support new product launches and manufacturing process improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize production methods.
Quality Management
  • Ensure products meet customer specifications and quality standards.
  • Monitor key quality metrics and drive corrective actions when necessary.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance teams to investigate defects, root causes, and process deviations.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap, rework, and downtime.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
  • Promote a culture of safety throughout the manufacturing facility.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Support ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) controls and lithium-ion battery handling procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and employee training.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop production personnel.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Manage staffing levels, attendance, and workforce planning.
  • Foster teamwork, accountability, and employee engagement.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, and Kaizen methodologies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and quality.
  • Analyze production data and establish action plans to address performance gaps.
  • Drive initiatives focused on cost reduction and process optimization.
Inventory & Material Management
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain and Warehouse teams to ensure material availability.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy and production consumption.
  • Minimize material shortages and production interruptions.
  • Support cycle counts and inventory control programs.
Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Bilingual in Korean and English preferred.
Experience
  • 3–5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Experience in battery manufacturing, energy storage systems, automotive manufacturing, electronics assembly, or related industries preferred.
  • Prior supervisory or management experience required.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Knowledge of battery manufacturing processes and quality systems.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with ERP and MES systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and production reporting systems.
