Vienna® Beef was founded in 1893. Austrian-Hungarian immigrants Emil Reichel and Samuel Ladany introduced their family frankfurter recipe at the legendary Columbian Exposition/World's Fair. The hot dog was a hit, and Vienna® Beef was born. 125 years later, we’re still making our sausages the old‑fashioned way, with premium domestic beef and our original recipe, to the highest of quality standards.

Based in Chicago, Vienna Beef has been manufacturing super premium quality beef products since 1893. Currently the company manufactures a wide variety of sausage, deli meat and soup products in the newly remodeled Production Plant located in the Bridgeport neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago. • Responsible for packaging finished goods.
• Perform production duties such as manual lifting, and packaging.
• Monitor machines and make adjustments to the controls for devices.
• React to any type of alarms or malfunctions of the equipment and operate the shut‑off switch when necessary.
• Rotate to other jobs in department depending on need, completion, or learning purposes.
• Verify that each finished item meets the quality standards of the company by observing size, shape, and color of each item.
• Take product packages from moving conveyor and place the correct amount in the corresponding box.
• Fill out required documents.
• Candidates affirm they are committed to participate in safety protocol.
• Miscellaneous projects as defined by supervisor and company productivity needs and requirements.

• Employee will be required to stand for up to two and a half hours between breaks.
• Work often involves repetitive motions.
• Candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Candidate must be able to work in cold conditions.

• Loader (Line
  5) – Place hot dogs on a scale to ensure they are the proper weight (for 5 lb) or place them in the pocket arranging them neatly for retail products. REPETITIVE
• Labeler (Line
  5) – Place a label on each package as it comes out of the machine. Place a sticker on the label or package if needed.
• Weight Measurer (Super loader) – Place each package (5 lb) on scale, make sure weight is correct and place package on moving conveyor.
• Product Sorter (Natural Casing Line) – Remove unacceptable product from moving conveyor and place in container. Remove linked sausages from moving conveyor and separate them by cutting them with a knife.
• Bagger (Natural Casing Line) – Take a plastic bag and place it under the product funnel until it is filled to approximately 10 lb. Place filled bag on table.
• Weight Measurer (Natural Casing Line) – Place bag (Approximately 10 lb) on scale, add or take out product to make proper weight place bag on table.
• Bag Sealer (Natural Casing Line) – Take filled bag from table, place it on the sealer machine (Twice), push lever up (overhead reach / light push) to activate vacuum/seal, place packages and place them on moving conveyor.
• Drake Loader (Retail Line) – Fill any empty spaces on Drake loader conveyor with product, pick out unacceptable product and place in container.
• Load Station (Retail Line Jumbo) – Place 4 links in pocket, pat it down to fit in pocket neatly.
• Labeler (Band‑All) – Take a 12 oz package, place it on the machine, wait until label wraps around package and remove it.
• Packer (All Lines) – Take a box upside down (different sizes) fold in flaps, turn it over, fill it with correct packages (12 oz to 10 lb), place box on moving conveyor (5 lb to 40 lb).
• Box Sealer – Wait for boxes (5 to 50 lb) on moving conveyor, fold in flaps, guide box into box sealer giving it a good push to hit the upper drive assembly raising switch and activate the raising assembly.
• Palletizer (Palletizer room) – Place full boxes (5 to 50 lb) on wooden pallet according to item number with the correct quantity per pallet.
