Machine Operator

Cenveo is a leading North American manufacturer of envelopes with over 100 years of experience and approximately 30 billion envelopes manufactured annually. We are hiring immediately for 2nd & 3rd shift Machine Operators (Packers) for our manufacturing facility in Chicago, IL.

• 2nd shift premium $1/hr and 3rd shift premium $2/hr
• 2nd shift: 2pm - 10pm and 3rd shift: 10pm - 6am
• Training may take place on 1st shift 6am -- 2pm
• Schedule:
  
  Mon - Fri / Sat required during busy season/based on business needs.

• Loads paper on to automatic hand-fed or web envelope folding machines; pack finished product.
• Inspects quality of envelopes, labels cartons, reports variances to key personnel.
• Checks current production orders/schedules to determine daily production requirements.
• May be required to do rework on finished product; cleans up work area during/end of shift.
• Other duties as assigned/required.

• Ability to keep up with a high-speed delivery output in a standing position for a full shift.
• Mental alertness; ability to step up/reach overhead/manually feed paper into machine.
• Ability to lift up to 55 pounds; manual dexterity required to grasp objects.
• Exposure to arm/wrist fatigue; exposure to noise, hazardous materials (inks, solvents, glue, etc.).
• Must be able to work in hot or cold weather.

• The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months of relevant work experience in a production environment.
• Quality inspection skills and ability to measure/read a ruler.
