Sanitation Packaging Technician Chicago Lab Job description: Overview
The Manufacturing Sanitation Technician’s primary role is to clean and sterilize small-scale production vessels and process equipment. In addition to keeping up the general cleanliness of the production area and equipment.
Responsibilities- Disassemble and manually wash small-scale propagation vessels and process equipment prior to sterilization.
- Efficiently run autoclave operations to sterilize vessels and process equipment.
- Assemble propagation vessel’s aeration apparatus.
- Inspect equipment and report defects.
- Clean and perform routine maintenance on autoclaves.
- Communicate and collaborate with other departments in order to meet production demands.
- Participate in ongoing efforts for continuous improvement in our processes.
- Communicate with Project Manager to maintain inventory of department supplies.
- Performs all department tasks in line with SOPs and best safety practices.
- Complete all sanitation and regulatory required documentation.
- Maintain a clean and organized workplace.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Adaptable and able to efficiently prioritize tasks and manage time accordingly.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Prior production facility experiences preferred.
- Preferred to have a GED or high school diploma.
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite or related software is a plus.
- Must have the ability to stand/bend/stoop/kneel/walk throughout the work day (10 hour shift, 4 days a week).
- Lifting or maneuvering objects and materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work in a warm environment (up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit) for hours at a time.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
