Heat Treat Operator position responsible for setting up, operating, and tending heating equipment to heat-treat steel coil/wire.

• Review orders and locate coils according to schedule.
• Use overhead crane and forklift to load and unload coils from furnace or carriers.
• Understand emergency processes for gas and temperature; raise and reduce gases and temperature according to chart.
• Operate RX generator and perform mounting, tensile pull, hardness, and upset tests.
• Cut samples, tag, and fill out production sheets and shift reports daily; complete maintenance sheets as needed.
• Document in-house rejections, hold, and precautionary tags and place them in the appropriate location.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the lab; perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Operate compactor and band coils; monitor atmospheric gas temperature (CO, CO2, O2, etc.) and check carbon potential every 15 minutes; verify computerized systems are running properly.
• Wear proper PPE per guidelines; inspect overhead crane and forklift daily before use; follow all safety rules and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Able to read, write, and speak English.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic computer skills; experience operating forklift and overhead crane in an industrial setting.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.

• Regular work on alternating weekends and holidays; non-air-conditioned environment may be required.
• Standing, walking, bending, and twisting for the duration of the shift.
• Exposure to noise, fumes, odors, and dust daily.
• Vision protection, steel-toed boots, hard hat, ear plugs, and high-visibility clothing required.

• Lift a minimum of 50 pounds; bend and climb as needed.
• Ability to see and hear; identify and distinguish colors.
