Plant Manager

Amylu Foods is hiring a Plant Manager to lead our flagship manufacturing operation. This role is located at the Back of the Yards neighborhood in Chicago.

The Plant Manager is responsible for overall plant production, safety, inspection, operation, maintenance and sanitation.

This includes ensuring production of a consistent quality product on a safe efficient and timely basis.

Responsible for maximizing profit while controlling cost, ensuring stability and growth within the company and at the same time achieving or exceeding personal and business goals.

The Plant Manager also oversees the implementation of new production processes that deliver new products, increase efficiency and higher quality output.

• Responsible for the safety, health and environment of all manufacturing employees as well as the strict enforcement of all applicable regulations and rules.
• Create facility production goals and key performance indicators, such as giveaway yields, labor, and floor loss.
• Commitment to personal growth, as well as proven ability to develop those around you to higher levels of responsibility.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in budgeting capital planning, capacity planning and continuous improvement processes.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexible by adjusting priorities.
• Determining safely and quality control standards and ensure those standards are met.
• Ensures compliance with applicable state and federal governmental regulations (OSHA, FSIS, USDA, EPA, Etc).
• Ensures employees and procedures comply with state and federal guidelines.
• Confer with department heads to ensure coordination of purchasing production, and shipping.
• Establish and direct local facility policies and procedures.
• Foster and develop a trained and motivated staff.
• Ability to lead by example and involve others in the decision making process.
• Be primary liaison with USDA inspectors.

• 7+ years of experience working in manufacturing production environment.
• Bachelor's degree in related field/food industry.
• Experience managing at least 200 employees.
• Experience building successful teams.

• Experience in the food manufacturing industry.
• Experience in leadership roles.
• Strong communication skills.

• Must be comfortable working in cold/wet temperatures.
• Must be able to work over time during peak production periods.
• Must be able to stand/walk 8-10 hours a day.
