Additional Skills

Understands basic shop tools. (Angle grinders, die grinders, ability to read tape measure accurately.)

Fabrication sprinkler pipes with steel pipes. Looking for candidates that have prior experience in industrial/ manufacturing/ manual labor.

Non-climate controlled, can get very hot (not air-conditioned).

• 6 months recent industrial labor exp. or machine operation or Production experience or even someone with Construction background.
• Ability to use and understand tape measures. Use of Gauges for quality checks

6 months experience in mechanical background

• Assemble pipe orders (single sticks or bundles) and maintain organized work supplies.
• Follow safety precautions for fabricating, cutting, assembling, stacking, and shipping pipe.
• Operate powered industrial equipment per OSHA guidelines and Ferguson procedures.
• Set up and maintain machines for pipe fabrication.
• Measure, record, and add random pipe lengths accurately.
• Measure and cut pipe using band saws or torches.
• Thread and bevel pipe using Landis machines.
• Inspect and maintain forklift equipment.

• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong math skills for calculating product quantities.
• Knowledge of safe work practices in the pipe yard.
• Experience with machinery for cutting and threading pipe (training provided).
• Results-focused in a fast-paced environment.
• Capable of reading a tape measure accurately.
• Good computer skills for automated machinery.
• 6-8 months recent experience with machinery such as pipe threaders, band saws, roll groove machines, plasma cutting, automatic welding machines, and pneumatic banders.
• Ability to sort/shift pipe ranging from " to 10".
• Preferred experience in fire sprinkler pipe fabrication (6-8 months).
