Shift:
- AM Shift (Hours to be determined based on production schedule)
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing food manufacturing and packaging equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable production operations. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, experience in the food manufacturing industry, and a commitment to food safety and preventive maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment failures
- Repair and replace defective components using hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance on food processing and packaging equipment according to production schedules
- Complete facility maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical repairs, wall patching, and general building maintenance
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and equipment documentation to perform accurate repairs
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders, parts inventory, and service logs
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, GMP, food safety regulations, and company policies
- Collaborate with Production teams to minimize downtime and maximize equipment performance
- Monitor equipment reliability and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reduce breakdowns
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance shop and work area
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance requests as needed
- Previous Maintenance Mechanic experience in a food manufacturing or food processing environment required
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Experience performing preventive maintenance on industrial production and packaging equipment
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and general facility maintenance
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance documentation
- Knowledge of GMP, food safety standards, and OSHA regulations
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced production environment
- Willingness to work flexible schedules or different shifts based on production needs
