Painter
Potbelly Sandwich Works is seeking an experienced painter to work alongside other craftsman, creating unique furniture, fixtures, and signage for new locations. All products are fabricated in our workshop which is located on the North side of Chicago.
Responsibilities:
- Spray, brush or roll finishes on millwork, signage, tables, and other custom restaurant fixtures.
- Prep material for paint and stain.
- Paint or screen print custom signage.
- Apply paint to unique carved tabletops and signage, and finish with self-leveling epoxy.
- Maintain paint area, spray booth and equipment.
- Travel occasionally for repairs, installations, or deliveries.
- Other duties as assigned.
Essential Physical Functions:
- Must have the ability/stamina to work 45 to 55 hours a week.
- Will frequently reach, feel, bend, stoop, and carry.
- Must be able to engage in problem-solving to help identify and solve potential issues.
- Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours per day.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
Experience, Education and Behaviors:
- Minimum High school degree.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience required.
- Experience with HVLP or airless sprayers preferred but will train.
- Must be extremely organized and neat.
- Must be a self-starter who can work well with others as well as independently.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to interact with all levels of a company.
- Must demonstrate leadership behaviors and values that align with Potbelly.
