Salary: $90,000 - $115,000 per year
A bit about us: ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturing company in Chicago that develops specialized systems that support controlled energy use in industrial and commercial settings. Currently hiring for a Manufacturing Engineer to design and refine production workflows to boost efficiency, quality, and cost performance within a fully integrated manufacturing setting (including CNC and manual machining, sheet metal work, welding, and assembly).
The role also contributes to new product rollouts, manages product-related data, drives ongoing process improvements, develops tooling and fixtures, analyzes operational data, and collaborates across teams on various projects.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Creates and revises CNC programs (Haas VF-4 & UMC-750) using Autodesk Fusion.
- Designs fixtures and other equipment for the production process using Autodesk Inventor.
- Utilizes additive manufacturing to produce fixtures and other equipment.
- Maintains and revises production routers and other production documents.
- Analyzes process data to identify improvements.
- Analyzes production KPI’s and manufacturing cost data.
- Creates production work instructions.
- Creates test procedures.
- Leads APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) projects.
- Submits ECNs (Engineering Change Notices) as necessary.
- Leads Lean Six Sigma projects.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of related experience.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and capable of self‑checking for completeness and accuracy of work produced.
- Experience using enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to maintain production routers and BOM's.
- Knowledge of CAD and design principles of additive manufacturing.
- Haas VF-4 setup and operating experience is a plus.
- Experience maintaining production route documents is a plus.
- Lean manufacturing training is a plus.
- Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
- Proficiency with Autodesk Fusion is a plus.
- Willingness to learn new skills.
- Mechanical aptitude.
