We are a Food service folding carton manufacturing operation seeking candidates to join our Chicago, IL team. We’re recruiting for multiple positions so be sure you review all of our job postings. This job posting is for a Palletizer Operator with a pay range of $20.39 to $21.18/hour plus shift differential and progressive pay increases. Operates console that controls automatic palletizing equipment to sort, transfer, and stack on pallets the cases of finished product. Reads packaging specifications to ensure correct pallet type and arrangement of cases onto pallet matches specification. They must understand and align business operations and cutting department as he/she executes their role to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.

Job functions include but are not limited to the following.

• Operates console that controls automatic palletizing equipment to sort, transfer, and stack on pallets the cases of finished product. Reads packaging specifications to ensure correct pallet type and arrangement of cases onto pallet matches specification.
• Observes pallets moving along conveyor to identify defective cases, slip sheets or pallets.
• Turns selector switch on palletizer to control stacking arrangement of cases on pallet and to transfer loaded pallet to delivery platform.
• Supplies loading equipment with empty pallets and slip sheets.
• Stops and restarts equipment to clear jams.
• Informs supervisor of equipment malfunction.
• Operate automatic bagger equipment by threading bag and going through the startup process.

• Manufacturing experience preferred
• Must be able to work other shifts if needed and perform overtime work as required.
