Public Relations & Communications Intern Overview

Fashion Bar is seeking analytical, creative, and driven interns to join our Chicago-based Fashion Strategy and Consulting team. This role supports daily communications efforts and ongoing public relations initiatives within a fast-paced, goal-oriented fashion environment.

Interns will work closely with Fashion Bar’s internal teams to help execute brand messaging, media outreach, and public-facing communications aligned with Fashion Bar’s identity and client initiatives.

This is an accredited internship offering hands-on experience in public relations, communications, and media relations within the fashion industry.

• Monitoring print, digital, and social media coverage
• Scheduling and coordinating media engagements, appearances, photoshoots, and special events
• Writing press releases, media materials, and internal communications
• Assisting with interview preparation materials and media briefs
• Compiling and maintaining media and contact lists
• Researching and collecting press clippings and coverage
• Managing and updating communications databases
• Supporting mailings, print production, and media outreach
• Greeting guests, clients, and media partners as needed
• Assisting with general administrative and communications support

• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Currently pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
• Solid understanding of social media platforms and digital communication
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel
• Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple tasks
• Professional demeanor and ability to represent the brand externally

• Duration:
  One semester or academic quarter
• Approximately 20 hours per week
• Flexible scheduling to accommodate academic and work commitments

This is an unpaid internship
