Head of Data & Apps Tradeshow & Conference Strategy, Manager

The Tradeshow & Event Strategy Manager leads event strategy for Tempus’s Data & Apps Marketing team, driving planning, coordination, and execution of trade shows, conferences, and corporate events. This fast‑paced, project‑management‑heavy role partners with sales, marketing, and leadership to deliver Tempus’s brand messaging to biotechs and pharmaceutical companies.

• Lead the Data & Apps conferences and events and oversee the Marketing & Events Coordinator.
• Partner with the Director to drive strategic planning and execution of the event portfolio.
• Lead conference selection and budget management with Tempus Data & Apps leadership, totaling ~ 2M.
• Direct internal coordination and operational execution for ~25 annual conferences, including contract negotiation, marketing strategy, planning, implementation, attendance coordination, and compliance management.
• Work with leadership, marketing and sales to coordinate exhibit booths, speaking opportunities, customer receptions, and sponsor ships at national conferences.
• Become an expert in the Data & Apps business to make strategic decisions on business goals, conference target audiences, and sponsorship objectives.
• Negotiate and manage relationships with vendors, venues, entertainment, and food & beverage partners to ensure cost efficiency, brand alignment, and high‑quality execution.

• BS degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Event & Hospitality, or related field.
• At least 8+ years of work experience.
• Self‑motivated with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong, professional, and effective communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills while coordinating multiple activities concurrently.
• Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams on projects from concept to execution.
• Quick and thoughtful when handling unforeseen circumstances without affecting quality of work.
• Google Suite skills preferred.

CHI:  100,. The salary range applies for Illinois locations; it may vary for California, Colorado, and New York. Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and experience.
