Role Summary & ImpactThe Director of Commerce Planning will lead commercial planning for WPP Media’s clients, partnering with retail media networks, ad‑tech partners and internal agency teams to unlock new growth opportunities and deliver simplified, data‑backed solutions. The role requires a strategic thinker who can identify product, process, and solution opportunities, manage cross‑functional projects, and champion WPP Media’s commerce platform across accounts.
Responsibilities- Lead and develop a team of direct reports, supporting their career growth.
- Partner with agency teams (investment, search, social, programmatic, data, analytics) to create comprehensive solutions that meet client business objectives.
- Integrate commerce and brand media, devising end‑to‑end media plans.
- Manage relationships to ensure delivery of first‑to‑market media solutions.
- Track industry trends, develop and share points of view on emerging retail media dynamics.
- Engage with internal and external leaders (WPP agencies, technology providers, retailers) to evolve go‑to‑market strategies.
- Develop commerce and retail media content, including training, POVs and frameworks.
- Champion adoption of WPP Media Commerce for new and existing accounts.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Analytics, Marketing, Communications, Advertising or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years’ experience in commerce, paid media, trade strategy, retail, consulting or analytics.
- Proven ability to deliver effective media plans aligned to business goals.
- Experience managing a team of direct reports.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Deep understanding of retail business metrics (profit margin, inventory, forecasting, demand planning) and how they influence media decisions.
- Knowledge of retail bid management platforms (e.g., Pacvue, Skai) and campaign optimization across Amazon, Instacart, Walmart, Target, Kroger, Criteo, Google, Meta, etc.
- Excellent project‑management, communication and presentation skills.
- Self‑starter with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

SalaryUS Pay Range: $100,000 – $230,000 USD
