Public Relations Intern

Overview

Walker Sands is seeking an energetic, detail‑oriented individual to serve as a Public Relations Intern for a paid 12‑week internship. This hybrid position reports to our Chicago office.

• Develop media lists and conceptualize pitch strategies.
• Coordinate media opportunities and write press releases and other deliverables.
• Prepare media briefing materials, conduct research, and draft speaking and award submissions.
• Support client teams across multiple B2B industries.

• Strong interest in media, trends, and newsworthiness.
• Excellent writing skills and a keen eye for grammar.
• Self‑starter who can think on their feet and adapt quickly.
• Eligible for full‑time employment upon completion of the program. Students who will remain enrolled in a full‑time academic program cannot apply.
• Must complete a writing test during the interview process.

12‑week paid internship, 40 hours per week: $18.00 per hour.

• Hybrid work: mix of in‑office and remote.
