Description
The Account Executive works closely within the Client Service Team to support the planning and execution of account-specific marketing programs. 3 years of prior CPG or ad agency experience, a comprehensive understanding of the marketplace and strong communication skills. Additional experience with consumer packaged goods and/or retail marketing is a plus. May travel up to 25% of time. Develop estimates, track expenses, invoicing, develop and manage timelines, keep team abreast of critical dates, schedule meetings as needed, write and update weekly job status reports, handle general administrative requests as needed.
EssentialFunctions of this Position
- Initiate regular client status meetings for all on-going projects including anticipating upcoming projects
- Attend client meetings (in-person and via phone)
- Serve as primary day-to-day client contact at appropriate level
- Write/coordinate the creation of case studies for completed projects
- Collect creative samples for Agency archive
- Develop, nurture, and maintain client relationships
- Expand client relationships beyond "normal" day-to-day contacts
- Review trade journals, newspapers, magazines, and web-sites specific to client's industry to be aware of and stay abreast of marketing mix functions (integrated marketing, direct marketing, promotional marketing, etc.) and the objectives, strategies and tactics utilized
- Write recaps of meetings and issue within 24 hours of meeting/discussion
- Provide/develop preparation materials for brainstorm meetings
- Participate in brainstorm meetings, time permitting
- Fulfill miscellaneous client requests (retrieval and distribution of logos, artwork, etc.)
- Utilize Agency planning documents, e.g., job brief
- Be a resource for planning support (both client and agency based)
- Ensure recommended program solutions fulfill clients sales/marketing goals and brand standards per the client brief
- Assist or lead in presentation of concepts and client deliverables
- Be the primary team member responsible for creative process, facilitation/management, and creative presentations deliverables
- Ensure receipt of client-approved Creative Guidelines/Communication priorities
- Support account lead in presentation of creative
- Ensure recommended creative solution fulfills approved Creative Guidelines and Communication Priorities
- Follow Agency process and procedures
- Manage budget and timeline keeping Agency and client teams abreast of deviations
- Work closely with sales teams where needed and client team to support them in generating new ideas/strategic concepts for platforms as well as retail custom promotions
- Support execution of retail custom promotions/platforms with account team and internal departments
- Increase profitability by ensuring all budgets and estimates are tracked for client approvals and invoicing
- Assist in development of monthly estimates of client billing and internal finance compliance
- Help Director/Supervisor manage overall profitability of accounts
- Keep clients and team abreast of changes in the project that may affect the overall budget and/or timing
- Be willing, able, readily available to work outside of "normal hours"
- Be a team player to your specific account team(s)
- Assist and grow relations with Mosaic Client Services and Customer/Client Business Managers where needed
- Be willing to assist internal teams outside day-to-day scope where needed in any way
- Provide follow-up on discussions, issues, projects, etc. internally & with clients in a timely manner
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned
Minimum Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing, or related field or equivalent work experience required
- Three years agency experience in retail or consumer packaged goods preferred
- Research/analysis experiences a plus
- Proven leadership, organization, and communications skills
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Self-starter with strong analytical problem-solving ability
- Ability to effectively develop and communicate ideas to upper management
- Ability to handle multiple projects
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
