Salary Range (commensurate with experience): $65,000. / Annual Salary

Working within a highly collaborative and intersectional environment, the Associate Director will manage and support projects that cross multiple units, including the UI College of Medicine, UI Hospital and Clinics, Mile Square Health Center, and the UI Cancer Center. The successful candidate will be an experienced storyteller with the demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts into simple, compelling language. This individual must have strong writing and project management skills, an understanding of Advancement/fundraising, and must be committed to the mission and goals of UI Health.
Duties & Responsibilities:- Produce compelling Health Advancement communications content with a primary focus on impact reports for donors, as well as newsletters, web copy, campaign materials, marketing materials, sales sheets, stewardship materials, and personalized correspondence. Write copy for projects that are best suited to an in-house Advancement writer.
- Manage content production from conception to publication. Develop project briefs and timelines, make assignments, track progress, issue reminders, troubleshoot as needed, and ensure delivery of a quality finished product by deadline.
- Arrange and organize small group meetings to facilitate brainstorming and ideation. Keep team members informed of progress throughout the content development and production process, alerting stakeholders to potential issues as they arise.
- Conduct research and compile source material to inform writers' work. Collaborate with the Director, Donor Acquisition and Engagement and other team members to capture raw material for storytelling.
- Edit, fact-check, and proofread content to ensure materials are accurate and free of errors. Ensure materials are on brand, adhere to style guidelines, and reflect approved messaging as outlined in the messaging framework.
- Manage relationships with vendors and freelance writers, serving as the liaison among wordsmiths, designers, and Advancement colleagues.
- Maintain a deep understanding of each unit's work to ensure all content accurately reflects current activities and priorities.
- Build branded plug-and-play templates for use by Health Advancement team members in donor communications.
- Maintain the digital repository of materials and assist team members in finding and accessing collateral as needed.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned
