The Manager, U.S. Field Communications is the strategic translator between McDonald's U.S. business priorities and execution at the regional level (i.e. Field) - helping Field leaders, Owner/Operators and staff understand what matters, why it matters, and how to act on it.
This position is in Chicago at McDonald's headquarters with occasional travel. You will report directly to the Sr. Manager, U.S. Field Communications and be a member of the broader U.S. Business Communications Team.
Duties
Strategic Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
+ Develop, execute and measure Field Communications strategies that amplify McDonald's U.S. priorities while addressing local Field Office needs.
+ Elevate Field Office perspectives into broader communications strategies by representing Field Office stakeholders during national planning to improve how national priorities land locally.
+ Serve as the strategic communications business partner for assigned Field Vice Presidents and Field Leadership Teams.
+ Guide and optimize internal communication channels for Field Offices, including leadership messaging, newsletters, town halls, intranet channels, etc.
+ Uplevel and modernize communications strategies, tools, and tactics supporting McDonald's Field and Owner/Operator events.
+ Capture and apply qualitative and quantitative insights to continually improve communications tactics, audience understanding, and strategic guidance.
+ Partner with Field PR, Government Relations, Legal, Operations and other stakeholders to support proactive brand reputation, local storytelling, and urgent or sensitive Field communications.
+ Operate effectively in a matrixed environment, balancing national strategy, local stakeholder needs and multiple high-priority work streams.
Qualifications
Qualifications
+ BA/BS degree required.
+
Experience with internal and executive communications; external communications experience preferred.
+ Experience owning end-to-end communications campaigns from strategy and planning through execution, measurement and improvement.
+
Experience with email automation, distribution, analytics or internal communications platforms.
+ Preferred:
Experience extending native platform metrics through custom dashboards or deep-dive reporting tools such as Power BI.
+ Experience providing counsel and driving influence with senior leaders.
+ Ability to navigate, orchestrate and work through complex issues and audiences with a perspective that connects centralized strategy and localized stakeholder needs.
+ Proven ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, matrixed environment and balance multiple high-priority work streams.
