Speechwriter

Work Schedule: Hybrid, 2 days onsite, 3 remote - 37.5 hours work week

Our client is a well-established healthcare-focused professional organization dedicated to advancing education, quality, and professional standards within its field. The organization offers a collaborative environment and the opportunity to create high-visibility communications for senior leadership and a broad professional audience.

Our client is seeking a talented Writer / Speechwriter to join its Marketing and Communications team. This individual will develop compelling written content for publications, executive communications, speeches, presentations, and other organizational materials.

The ideal candidate is a polished writer and storyteller who can research complex topics, interview subject-matter experts, and adapt messaging to different audiences and executive communication styles. This position will also assist with the development and visual organization of PowerPoint presentations.

• Research topics and interview internal stakeholders and subject-matter experts to develop engaging written content.
• Produce long-form articles, newsletters, executive communications, and other editorial materials.
• Partner with teams across the organization to identify timely topics and gather information for new content.
• Bring fresh ideas and potential story concepts to editorial discussions.
• Create content outlines and transform research into polished, audience-focused materials.
• Draft speeches, talking points, presentations, and other communications for senior executives.
• Adapt writing style, messaging, and tone to reflect the voice of individual leaders.
• Refresh existing speeches and presentations based on new initiatives, events, and organizational priorities.
• Incorporate storytelling techniques to make executive communications informative and engaging.
• Build and organize PowerPoint presentations, including creating initial slide layouts that can later be refined by design professionals.
• Manage multiple writing assignments while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail.

• Strong professional writing, editing, and research skills.
• Ability to interview stakeholders and translate information into clear, compelling content.
• Strong storytelling skills with the ability to adjust tone and messaging for different audiences.
• Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint required.
• Comfortable creating and organizing presentation decks with basic visual design elements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Initial assignment is expected to last approximately six months.
• Limited business travel may be required during the assignment.
