The Senior Coordinator of Events & Marketing develops and conducts public events for the organization, working in close collaboration with NPS and other partners to ensure seamless public engagement and success.
The Senior Coordinator develops relationships with partner groups in support of Pullman National Historical Park and supports the organization’s external outreach and communications work. This position drives successful events, public participation, and visibility for Pullman National Historical Park and Friends of Pullman cultural initiatives, such as exhibits and programs. These events will be marketed to encourage engagement and attendance as a part of the event creation and management.
EventManagement - 65%
Manage and direct annual Railroad Days and increase attendance year over year;
Lead Railroad Days staff and board team;
Lead recruiting of program participants (activities, music, food, special speakers or program highlights, and train tours);
With Volunteer manager, develop a staffing and volunteer plan to sustain the event;
Develop and manage other events relevant to Friends of Pullman mission and visibility of the park.
With the Development team, create and manage fundraising or donors events.
Marketing and Outreach– 20%Execute marketing strategies for Pullman National Historical Park to drive public awareness and visitor engagement.
Lead marketing and communications campaigns for special initiatives, including the Plowden Photography Exhibit, across digital, print, and local media.
Grassroots outreach to ensure Pullman is included in calendar listings and other earned media opportunities.
Direct paid media strategies, managing advertising campaigns and monitoring budgets to optimize outreach.
Work with committee to schedule, and manage content across all social media channels to expand Friends of Pullman’s digital reach and foster community interaction.
Draft marketing language for outreach materials for programs and events.
Staff exhibit hall one weekend per month and during the week as needed;
Represent Friends of Pullman at public events and community events;
Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive, and mission-driven organizational culture;
Provide administrative and office support when needed.
A minimum of three years experience managing events and marketing.
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
Experience in outreach, digital marketing, social media and community engagement.
Strong writing skills required.
Ability to work well with the public.
