About the RoleAs Membership & Events Program Manager, you will plan, coordinate, and execute community programs and events that strengthen member engagement and partner collaboration. This role is ideal for a warm, organized, and proactive self-starter who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys bringing ideas to life from concept through execution. You will play a central role in creating welcoming, inclusive, and professionally run experiences that build community and advance Sketch Pad's mission.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, coordinate, and execute member programs, workshops, community gatherings, and partner-hosted events
- Serve as the primary contact for all program logistics, including scheduling, invoicing, and coordination of space, technology, and food
- Welcome and host speakers, facilitators, partners, and guests to ensure a warm, inclusive, and professional experience
- Coordinate with members and external partners to communicate and uphold event policies and logistics
- Order, organize, and maintain program and event supplies
- Track attendance, gather participant feedback, and support post-event follow-up
- Lead community-building communications, outreach, and relationship management efforts
- Represent Sketch Pad at community events and meetings as needed
- Minimum 2 years of experience in program coordination, event planning, community engagement, or related field
- Experience working in or with nonprofit, community-based, or mission-driven organizations
- Familiarity with and appreciation for Chicago's Jewish community and organizational landscape
- Comfortable welcoming guests, facilitating logistics, and troubleshooting in real time
- Proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office; ability to learn new tools such as event platforms, CRM systems, and Canva
- Availability for occasional evenings and weekends for events
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds as needed
- Competitive hourly compensation of $30 or more, based on experience
