Job Description & How to Apply Below

Volunteer

Marillac St. Vincent Family Services has served Chicago communities for over 100 years. As a sponsored work of the Daughters of Charity, we provide vital programs and services in early childhood education, youth services, and community outreach services. We have two centers on the west and north sides, Marillac Social Center (a.k.a. "Marillac House") and St. Vincent de Paul Center.

Marillac St. Vincent Family Services offers distinctive volunteer opportunities for individuals willing to share their time on a more long-term basis. We ask these potential volunteers to complete an application, similar to the process for potential employees. This allows a more formal screening in compliance with certification requirements from regulatory bodies, such as the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and others.

We also ask that you commit to one half-day or more per week for one calendar year. Please see the descriptions below:

Harvest Hub

Harvest Hub is operated by volunteers and includes client shopping days and preparation days. Volunteers prepare the food pantry area and food item displays, or assist clients directly on shopping days. Volunteers may help with the client intake process or the grocery area/food sections. Volunteers also unload trucks and sort food deliveries, restock items, or prepare food boxes for home delivery clients.
