The Coordinator for Children and Family Ministrysupportsthe ministry teamoninitiatives thathelp parish catechetical leaderstoengagechildren and families in meaningful and transformative faith formation. Works under the direction of the Managerof Formation Ministriesto ensure that catechists and catechetical leaders are supported with appropriate resources and information for realizing the vision of the Archdiocese of Chicago for an engaged, evangelizing, and revitalized Church of disciples that transform their communities through witness to the love of Jesus.
Responsibilities- Contributestothedevelopmentand implementation ofguidelines and resources for catechetical leaders, particularly in the areas of religious education, sacramental preparation, and formation of parents.
- Works with the Office of Lifelong Formation Team to plan and execute measurable outcomes for each event, program, or initiative aligned with the goals of the officeanddepartment.
- Works as part of the Childrenand Family Ministry team to implement formation strategies, including contributing to the planning and creation of workshops and webinars for parish catechetical leaders and catechists.
- Maintains and disseminatesrelevant initiative information, such as coordinating publication of the lifelong formation newsletter, managing contact lists and databases ofparish catechetical leaders, and communicating webinarand live event details with participants.
- Providesgeneral supportto parish catechetical leaders as needed, particularly in navigating diocesan policiesandaccessing andutilizingoffice-developed resources.
- Coordinates with inter-department colleagues for promotion, participation, and programming in catechist and catechetical leader initiatives.
- Contributes to preparing and following the Ministry Team budgetunder the guidance of the Managerof Formation Ministries.
- Works with colleagues in leadingandparticipatingin committees, project sand formationinitiatives as directed bythe Managerof Formation Ministries.
- Increases skills and knowledge through continuing education, attendingconferencesand readingappropriate literature.
- May be given other assignments and projects consistent with the responsibility level of this position.
- Bachelor’sDegreein
Theology,Pastoral Ministryorrelatedfieldofstudyfromanaccredited college or university, or equivalency. - Atleastthreeyearsofexperience in leadingparish faithformation,outreach,ministryoradministration.
- Fully committed to the Catholic Church’s teaching on the Gospel message.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people with varied social, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.
- Must be an excellent communicator, detail-oriented and self-motivated.
- Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, Teams,Exceland Power Point.
- Master’sDegreein
Theologyorrelatedfieldofstudy. - Fiveormoreyearsofprovenprofessionalexperience and leadershipinparish faithformation ministry.
- Experience in project management and/or coordinating events and programs serving many people.
- Experience with child and family sacramental preparation and catechesis.
- Experience with Zoom and Mail Chimp.

This position has an annualized salary range of $53,446.00 - $65,472.00. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on many factors including but not limitedtorelevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs
